 Our developers have been recently working overtime on enhancements for Veribox 2000 Packaging Validation System adding a whole host of new options and increased functionality to this well-established product.
Some of the enhancements have been made to keep pace with changes to packaging codes of practice issued by leading supermarkets, others are as a result of feedback from our users.
The latest Version 1.69 now includes:
- Interface for Matrox GT300 high speed camera (2D, OCR & OCV)
- Interface for Datalogic Matrix 410 high speed camera (2D, OCR & OCV)
- Updated OCR/OCV for date codes (Best Before End, BBE etc)
- New on-screen configuration for Ink Jet/Date Code Printers allowing VB2000 to send command strings and automatically issue label change-over parameters at each product change-over.
- New drivers for print and apply machines allowing VB2000 to send command strings and automatically issue label change-over parameters.
- Updates to production data and formatting of reports to ease viewing.
- Extended editing of parameters and new routines for use with VB-Server for remote configuration and administration functions.
 The most important feature of all the above enhancements is that the new release has been engineered to be completely backward compatible.
The addition of the OCR cameras from Datalogic and Matrox means that it now provides 100% checking of BBE date codes. The Veribox 2000 works as a fully closed loop system.
An operator selects the product from the database on VB2000. Simultaneously the VB2000 sends the label data to the printer, the configuration to the OCR camera and sets the global parameters for the product in the VB2000. Thus in seconds, the whole system is ready to go. It totally eradicates the need for operators to call up label files or program BBE dates. The information is all held within the VB2000’s product database and is recalled each time the product is selected.
Line Managers are being asked to improve efficiencies and in response to these requests we have changed the format structure of the file VB2000 creates each time it runs a product. Prior to this release, you required VB-Dashboard to interpret the data. Now you can import the files directly into either a text editor or a spreadsheet and view the files in a meaningful format.
